Empathy Isn’t Enough: Demanding Growth from Individuals and Collectives

Image
Just because I can empathize with another individual or collective—it doesn’t mean those individuals or collectives have nothing they need to work on in order to become healthier human beings for the good of the all. Empathy is a valuable and necessary tool for fostering connection and understanding, but it’s not a free pass for individuals or groups to remain stagnant in their dysfunction. While I can hold space for someone’s struggles or acknowledge the hardships that may have shaped their worldview, that doesn’t negate the need for accountability and growth. When it comes to empathy, true empathy isn’t about excusing toxic patterns—it’s about recognizing them for what they are and maintaining enough discernment to avoid being pulled into cycles of unconsciousness that reinforce dysfunction instead of challenging it. Because growth requires honest reflection, humility, and a willingness to evolve, and without those elements, our empathy quickly becomes misplaced, leaving us drained a...

When Movements Turn Toxic: Losing Integrity in the Name of Change

Image
I’ve noticed something about ideological movements that start with good intentions—they often end up doing more harm than good. It’s like they begin with this powerful sense of purpose, driven by the desire to fix what’s broken or uplift those who’ve been ignored. At first, their energy feels refreshing, even inspiring, because it taps into a shared frustration with injustice or inequality. But somewhere along the way, the focus shifts. And what starts as a push for positive transformation slowly morphs into something else entirely. So, instead of staying true to the cause, these movements often get tangled up in their own rules, their own dogmas, and their own need for control, where the initial desire to create fairness or restore balance gets overshadowed by an obsession with enforcing conformity, and before long, the movement becomes indistinguishable from the very systems it was fighting against. What’s ironic about all of this is that many of these groups end up replicating ...

I Love Your Energy!

Image
Sometimes people say that they love our energy or the vibe we bring, and it’s not always about wanting something from us. A lot of the time, they’re just resonating with the light we naturally carry. It’s like they feel something real—our authenticity, strength, or presence—and it speaks to them. But I get it—when you’ve dealt with people who tried to take advantage of that energy, it’s easy to feel guarded. Still, not every compliment hides an agenda. Sometimes, it’s just genuine appreciation for the way we show up, the presence we carry, and the energy we bring to the table. That’s why I put together the slides below—they dive into this idea of embracing compliments without suspicion while staying grounded in who we are. It’s about recognizing the difference between people who want to honor our light and those who just want to drain it. And when it comes down to it, it’s about trusting ourselves enough to discern what’s real. This means that we don't have to shut ourselves off f...

Reflection on Projection

Image
A memory from a couple years ago popped up today on one of my social media profiles and it is one of my favorite quotes that I've held onto in the back of my mind ever since I saw it. "There is a big difference between projections and hard-earned wisdom. All too often, people are accused of projecting when they make bold statements about human behavior. And sometimes this is true- our perspective can emanate from our own unresolved issues. We still have a chip on our shoulder, and that chip influences our view. But sometimes, our perspective is a reflection of what we have gleaned from our experiences. Sometimes we have learned a little something from all we have endured. So let's not turn everyone’s wisdom into a mirror projection game. Because sometimes we are actually seeing through the veils to a truth that demands expression. Sometimes our insights are fully grounded in reality. Sometimes we are seeing things for what they are." - Jeff Brown It deeply r...

Stepping into Spiritual Sovereignty: No More Gatekeepers

Image
💫✨️📖✨️💫 • The pharisees and the scribes have seized the keys to gnosis and hidden them. They have not used the keys, nor have they allowed anyone else to use them and enter the place of gnosis. You must therefore be as cunning as snakes and innocent as doves. • When it comes to this statement, let’s be real—this is calling out religious leaders, institutions, and so-called gatekeepers who hold onto knowledge, wisdom, and spiritual insights but don’t actually do anything meaningful with them. So, instead of using what they have to help people grow or deepen their understanding, they keep others spiritually stuck, stagnant, and dependent on them where they make it seem like you can’t access wisdom and knowledge or connect with the divine without their approval. And if you dare to step outside their boxes of rigid beliefs, question their traditions that are outdated and rooted in control, or push past the limits they’ve set, you’re suddenly treated like a threat instead of someone...

It’s Not About Religion—Or Is It? Unpacking Contradictions in Faith

Image
I am extremely distrusting of people who say, ‘It’s not about religion. It’s about Jesus,’ because when you look at their way of life, they spend most of their time in religious constructs, such as the church or other organized communal settings that clearly revolve around institutionalized systems of faith. The people who make these claims of ‘It’s not about religion, it’s about Jesus,’ their words might sound appealing on the surface, as if they are advocating for a direct and personal relationship with the divine, but through their actions and lifestyle, they often reveal a deep-seated entanglement with conventional religious practice, relying heavily on its structures, traditions, and community-based approval to define and validate their existence or sense of spirituality. This contradiction raises questions about whether they genuinely prioritize a connection with Jesus or if their allegiance lies solely with the religious constructs and hierarchies that claim to represent H...
